Rushing Beat Trilogy!!!

Posted by Frank On February - 20 - 2010

Yes! This is in fact, my FAVORITE trilogy of old school, side scrolling Beat ‘em Ups for the SNES. I had very fond memories of these games. I remember the first time I played it and that was actually “Rushing Beat Ran Fukusei Toshi” which of course I met initially as “Brawl Brothers”. I played this with my Friend Ariel (yes that’s HIS name) and I must say it is the most fun I had playing a 2 player game since Street Fighter II at the time. Now I do not recall if I played “Rival Turf” aka “Rushing Beat” first. I also do not recall when I played “The Peace Keepers” aka “Rushing Beat Syura”, maybe 1995 or so. Anyways, but it was not until many years later in the late 90s that I found out these were a trilogy in Japan. I played “Brawl Brothers” until 2002 on my SNES straight from 1995 when I acquired it from the same Blockbuster that I rented it from initially for $14.99. I bought it with my allowance which was paid as a lump sum as we were in Germany that summer for over a month so I collected my weekly allowance (which I had forgotten about cause of all the summer fun) and saw it in the used games bin and bought it without thought. I do not know where this original purchased game is (nor my Street Fighter 2 Turbo) but once I do I will make a video on these “Lost Games”. As there are about 3 of them. Anyhow here is the Video! Enjoy!!!!

PS I know that I spelled the URL wrong. I’ve since re-edited this vid but did not re-up it as it has been embedded in some other sites I still need to find.

Nintendo Game Pack Trading cards? Oh my!

Posted by Frank On May - 18 - 2009

I actually found a store that still sold these.  Albeit they did not cost me the ususal 25 cents I would’ve paid 20 years back.  But this worked for me.  I actually took the liberty of opening one back.  Check out the Video!

Gameboy Game Collection

Posted by Victor On May - 10 - 2009

Again…. another collection post.  You may think of me being an A-hole for posting these up but I do it to spawn conversation and hopefully a debate on the subject.

As you can see below in the video I have given a little background with the cartridges that I own.  Personally this collection was originally sparked by the need to own all variations of the Gameboy and Gameboy cartridge oddities one may find out there in the wild. In the first video I discuss the old school Gameboy carts.

In the second half  I discuss the Gameboy color and Gameboy advanced cartridges that I own.

So if you are able to identify a topic for debate from this please comment!

GameBoy Collection

Ahh … the collection. There is an inate sense in all people to show what they got especially if others don’t have it.  It may seem selfish to parade items that others do not have however I akin this feeling to that of eating a meatball sub after not eating for 12 hours.  In this particular case its with my Gameboy collection.  I have included the DS’s as well since i consider this a part of the Gameboy family. I hope that this will spawn some debate topics after viewing.

The Haul

Posted by Jason On May - 7 - 2009

Well what do you know …  Victor was right.  Fuck.  Games played on their Original gaming hardware is wayyyy funner than playing a friggin’ ROM of the same game on a PC.  It does bring you back and it has triggered some long lost childhood memories of mine.   Ahhh, The Good ‘ol Days…
